New 2018 Audi A8 Redesign, Price and Release Date
Audi had a big mission to redesign most of their cars to make them more powerful to drive and more comfortable. They also had a big concern about the more efficient fuel consumption. Their first project was the Q7 and then the A4. Right now, they will spend their time for the new 2018 Audi A8 as the third with the use of all-new MLB Evo platform. It will keep the longitudinally mounted front engine and the aluminum bodywork. As far as we know, they worked with VW to improve the rigidity around the chassis so that it has lighter weight than before. In fact, the current model is constructed from aluminum body. It is not something too much to say that the new car can be about 400 pounds lighter than the previous model.
Its release date is still far away but we have seen the camouflage of 2018 Audi A8 on the road. As we expected, it has an evolutionary design with the front end that seems similar to the Prologue concept which was introduced several years ago. The design also will be shared with the new Q7 because of the shared platform. It means that they will get individual LED taillights. Besides, Audi will add new hexagonal 3D grille to complete the recessed headlights so that it has more aggressive look than before.
Many people are expecting that the interior will be designed with latest technology and features. It will be an important strategy to keep its life, to battle with the upcoming rivals and to attract potential buyers as well. The main highlight will be a real autonomous driving feature that will allow the car to steer, accelerate, brake and avoid certain situations. This feature works best on clearly marked roads. They will also provide a better system for 2018 Audi A8 that seems taken from the Model S.
2018 Audi A8 Engine
We have to thanks to the company because the upcoming 2018 Audi A8 will be much easier to drive since the new platform supports the car to lose some pounds of its current weight. Besides, it has new engines. The top model will be the strong rival for S600 Maybach. The lighter bodywork also supports the car to use smaller engines. It will use 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four as the standard in the European market. For the US, it seems that they will give new 3 liters twin-turbocharged V6 petrol to give about 350 to more than 400 hp as well as up to 400 lb-ft of torque. It also has 4 liters of twin-turbo V8 engine that supplies 600 hp on the S8. Rumors mentioned that the RS8 might go with the powerful W12 twin-turbocharged 6 liters for more than 700 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. They will carry the current eight-speed automatic as well as all-wheel drive.
If you want to go with the special edition model and the RS version, we estimate that you have to spend about $200,000. Its release date is still more than a year away.
