2019 Lamborghini Asterion Release Date, News, Specs and Price
Lamborghini has showcased the concept of the Asterion. Their goal is to create hybrid car to compete Ferrari F12 and Aston Martin Vanquish. Of course, the new 2019 Lamborghini Asterion will be the unusual competitor for those cars but the car will be the first true GT car after spending many years to develop it. Sadly, the project has been shelved right now since they have more concern on the life of Urus SUV which should be available in a couple years.
We glad that not too long ago, rumors are on the surface and hit 2019 Lamborghini Asterion. It is mentioned that Lamborghini will not dismiss them as what they did in the last year. Well, no confirmation has been made by the official. But, the expectation to get high class GT car from Lamborghini is quite high. It is expected to come with new modular chassis that will be the base language for the next Lamborghini flagship. It has something different from the concept. It will get a long hood with short back but it goes with mid-mounted engine that is similar to the Miura, but the design will remind you to the Aventador or Huracan with the long and low body for its very short nose and forward cabin. It should get regular door instead of scissor-doors with four-door and large door openings.
If you go inside, it has very good cabin design. It happens because the new platform to make it taller than the Aventador so that you have enough room with better seats and more features. 2019 Lamborghini Asterion is still unknown for the details, but it is expected to have something new inside.
2019 Lamborghini Asterion Engine
2019 Lamborghini Asterion will be built with the high concern on its range although it wouldn’t be as efficient as Prius, but it will be one of the most efficient cars in super car class. It seems the company will use a new Audi’s V8 twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter to power rear wheel drive and eight-speed auto gearbox. It is capable to make about 600 hp and up to 600 lb-ft of torque. The two front-mounted electric motors can deliver about extra 300 to 450 hp and up to 500 lb-ft of torque. In the end, it can make about 1,000 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque with the capability to make up to 100 miles. It sounds like a dream but Porsche is also developing their new electric system for the new Mission-E.
Since no confirmation given by the company and we didn’t see any prototype for the test mule yet, we assume that it should be spotted in the end of 2018. It is still unknown where the company will design it, GT car or full-on hyper car class. But, if it comes GT car class, 2019 Lamborghini Asterion can be about $200,000.
