2019 BMW 6 Series Grand Coupe Specs and Release Date
2019 BMW 6 Series will continue the current popular two-door GT flagship. However, it is important to say that the car is still not enough to compete with some of the rivals. It is because the car has harsher ride and it does not give spectacular driving experience even if its design is at the top level. To keep its popularity, the new 2019 model will be released. The prototype has been spied, but the official confirmation has not been made.
The company will use the brand new OKL architecture that can be helpful to cut the current weight. Making sure that the four-door version has ideal weight is crucial. It means that the weight of the new BMW 6 Series will be less than 4,500 pounds. What we expect that the company can cut for at least 200 pounds with the use of carbon fiber and aluminum in most parts of its bodywork. Based on the spy photos, the wheelbase will be bigger but shorter. Its design is also sleeker than before with the long hood and raked roofline as the iconic part of GT car. However, the front will have slimmer headlights and a wider grille. About the front end, it has a lower design with better drag coefficient. The back has some upgrades with slimmer taillights and integrated exhaust. Right now, BMW is issued to discontinue the Grand Coupe, since they will add 6-Series GT as the replacement.
It is safe to say that the cabin will be identical to the 5 Series with the help of some upgrades to make it a little bit different. The wider center stack is possible with more gear compared to the sibling. It will be available as an actual premium car with the much larger head-up display as with fully digital instrument cluster. 2019 BMW 6 Series will offer you high level of comfort with their latest technology features and excellent quality materials.
2019 BMW 6 Series Engine
Under the hood, the basic version will keep the current gas engine inline-six 3.0 liter with one or two turbochargers. By using this engine, the new 2019 6 Series is able to make about 330 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. For the more powerful engine, it seems the company will offer 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 that is able to make about 400 and 600 hp yet at the same time provide better fuel efficiency. Soon, the company may work for the diesel version with 3.0 liter to make 280 hp with the use of the same eight-speed automatic transmission as the 5 Series.
