2018 Kia Sorento Redesign, Changes, Specs, Release Date
Most crossover SUVs are well-designed but it also means that you have to deal with the high price to offer. To cut this problem, Kia has an innovation to create affordable SUV with the coming of 2018 Kia Sorento. The initial debut started in 2002 and 2010, the company provided it with big makeover including the adopted unibody architecture. With the tight competition, Kia is ready to launch their 2018 version with some changes to the exterior. The proof is from the spy shots, and we glad they shot the interior changes too.
The exterior styling comes with more noticeable changes and this is what we at least need to hear. 2018 Kia Sorento comes with tiger-nose style grille that is borrowed from Niro hybrid subcompact crossover as well as the Sportage compact crossover. The grille does not have Kia badge which is removed and relocated above the grille. The fog lights and headlamps are slightly revised. Additionally, the side profile comes with a different look. Likely, they will provide the same trims which will be L, LX, EX, SX and the last is SX Limited.
With the very lavish interior design, it is hard to believe that you get the car with the affordable price. The spaciousness is carried over. The optional features are the heated seats and the leather upholstery. They also include the Panoramic Sunroof with Power Sunshade as the optional. It comes with plenty storage, USB ports and 12v outlets. Nappa leather and heated steering wheel will be added to the SX Limited V6. It is available as a seven-seater car with third-row design and small cargo space. In case that you need more cargo room the solution is you can fold the third row. For some Safety features will be presented such as hill assist control, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, traction control system, tire-pressure monitoring system, brake assist system and others for the all trims. Meanwhile, the EX and SX variants will be available with blind sports monitoring and rear parking assist. If you go with 2018 Kia Sorento SX Limited V 6, it comes with autonomous emergency braking, advanced smart cruise control, forward collision warning system and lane departure warning system.
2018 Kia Sorento Engine
The engine of 2018 Kia Sorento will be enhanced. The L and LX trim will use 2.4-liter four-cylinder to make 185 hp. The limited and EX trim will use 2.0 liter turbocharged to break 240 hp. The Limited V6 probably will use 3.3-liter V6 engine to create 290. Those variants will be completed with six-speed auto transmission and standard front-wheel drive. The optional is all-wheel drive.
2018 Kia Sorento should be ready to come at the beginning of 2018 with the price for the L base trim is about $26,000 and $42,000 for the Limited V6 variant.
