2018 Honda HR-V Changes, Specs, Release Date and News
In the next of two or three years, Honda has a plan to update their entire lineup. All cars they have been producing will be completed with new engine, design and part. One of the cars that will be the part of their project will be the new 2018 Honda HR-V. The previous model was a new car and it was about a year ago we saw it on the street but providing more updates to this new generation is a big surprise. As you know that the original version was from 90’s and the previous model was launched in 2006. After that, they considered re-launching it and now this new generation will be the second generation.
2018 Honda HR-V Improvements
Born to be a small SUV, the new 2018 Honda HR-V is still attractive and it has many parts that are identical to the CR-V, the big brother. The visual appearance is based on the current design language from Honda. It doesn’t have radical changes, but it turns to be more interesting with the updates and small modifications. It has modified grille, redesigned lights and others.
It is a compact car with the infotainment system features. 2018 Honda HR-V will be equipped with updated interior design and some new features will be added. There will be Drive assist and safety systems with the top options that wouldn’t make you worry less to purchase it.
2018 Honda HR-V Engine
Under the bonnet, the new 2018 Honda HR-V will be designed with two prepared units. The North American buyers will be able to purchase the crossover with the support of 1.6 liter four-cylinder unit that is mated to six-speed manual gearbox. This is a good engine to provide 130 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. It is also possible to have CVT transmission but it wouldn’t give big change to the output and fuel economy which can be seen in the other engines. The smaller engine is 1.5 liter I-4 that is the second option to make 120 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque, but it will be for the global market, exclude the US.
2018 Honda HR-V is expected to come out in the end of 2017 or in the beginning of 2018. The price is still similar to the current model that is around $20,000 for US market with larger engine. For European and Asian market that has smaller engine, of course the price will be cheaper. The price is determined by the transmission option and the amenities you want to add.
