2018 Audi Q6 E-Tron Price and Release Date
Preparing to face the tight competition with Mercedes-Benz GLE 500e, Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid, BMW X5 40e and Tesla Model X, Audi will send the new 2018 Audi Q6 to the market with the use the more powerful and efficient electric hybrid engine. The company concerns on their slogan about giving the vehicle any progress through technology. The competition will be very hard because those cars will go with more powerful engine, redesigned look, and latest features.
The new 2018 Q6 will be established under the second-gen MLB platform to give more engine choices and driver assistance functions. The main material that the company will use to construction its body will be aluminum. This material is also helpful to support the air suspension. What makes it a bit different is the dimension goes larger than the Q5, but it has a smaller look. The vehicle is born with the combination of standard sedan and SUV in the four-door layout. It seems the vehicle will be unique with the use of coupe-like roofline. The company insider explained that the new design would decrease drag and more powerful performance. Other changes are slimmer headlights, yet curvier and bolder front grille.
The same story goes to the cabin that will be revamped. There will be virtual cockpit screen design which is taken from the Audi Prologue concept. More exciting and autonomous features are expected to be the part of the cabin since the company wants to set the standards for electric and a hybrid class. The 2018 Audi Q6 will be four-door CUV with the similar platform as the predecessor.
2018 Audi Q6 Engine
There are three electric motors to use in the 2018 Audi Q6 which is the same as the R8 e-tron. Audi will place one at the front axle and the last two motors located at the rear. It has rechargeable battery with 96-kilowatt-hour to provide 496 to 500 HP with 590 lb-ft of torque. By using this engine, the new Audi Q6 works with the all-wheel drive automatic system. Audi also claimed that it could reach 311 miles or 500 km in the fully charged battery. Audi will provide it an electric outlet as the standard charging, but they complete the offer with the optional inductive charging.
Going by all specifications, it sounds that the 2018 Audi Q6 will be produced in the middle of 2018. There is no solid information about the pricing right now. However, seeing the vehicle will be released with the new platform more engine options as well as some refined parts for its exterior and interior, it is easy to say that the cost will be higher compared to the previous model.
