2018 Mercedes GTR Price, Specs and Release Date
2018 Mercedes GTR was revealed at 2014 Paris Motor Show to continue the debut of Mercedes AMG GT. It is designed as a two-seat sports car with smaller design compared to the previous model and the car will be the new weapon for the company to compete with the Porsche 911. It will be the first model that will receive V8 engine twin-turbo and 4.0 liter. It is a good car to anticipate especially for those who want to have next level of performance because it has innovative technical solutions
The standard GT model is the base styling for the new 2018 Mercedes GTR, but for this one is quite special because the company will make it more aggressive and some features will be shared with the GT3 race car. The front has a striking look, thanks to its grille and vertical slats. The grille is similar to GT3’s and it reminds you the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Larger side intakes and redesigned center vent and splitter will complete its look. These are important to support it is aerodynamic. What is more is the wider front and rear fenders which are 1.8-inch wider and the wheels are larger about 20-inch. It is completed with high-performance tires, exclusive rims, and fixed rear wing to increase downforce on its rear axle, large aerofoil, big double diffuser, large center-mounted exhaust tip and more.
To fill the gap between the AMG GT and the GT race car, the interior of 2018 Mercedes GTR will be the solution. It has an identical dashboard, center stack and center console to the road car but the several features will be revised for its racy design. It has lightweight cabin material with the adjustable sport bucket seats in Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber cover. There will be shift paddles, door sills, steering wheel bezel and high-gloss black boot cross member for its standard equipment. Those are then combined with the AMG standard specification such as Interior Piano Lacquer package to make it totally sporty. Buyers even can go with the matte black carbon fiber trim.
