2018 Mercedes E-Class Sedan Price and Release Date
Mercedes-Benz finally confirmed the presence of their 2018 Mercedes E-Class Sedan. It was unveiled at 2016 Detroit Auto Show. They said that it would be a midsize sedan with the similar look to the S-Class or C-Class. However, the styling is different.
The styling cues will be a bit similar to the Coupe sibling, but it has something else under the skin if you compare it to the previous model. The company will offer the new 2018 Mercedes E-Class with the shared platform with the E-Class sedan, so it has rear-wheel drive body with adopted MRA to make it lighter and flexible. It means that the design outside will be similar to the coupe, such as the same silhouette, similar front fascia with the S-Class inspired headlamps and twin LED strips, but bigger grille with the A-shaped bumper. However, it has a different look with the lower windscreen, longer front door, shorter wheelbase than the sedan and redesigned decklid as well as revised rear fenders. It is wider tracks both front and back support it to have better driving dynamics. The larger footprint leads to the roomier cabin.
2018 Mercedes E-Class also has the identical design inside just like the coupe with the enough headroom with the help of folding roof. The rear compartment comes with less headroom as well as shoulder room, but you will love the infinite headroom once the roof is open. It also has the same styling features since the design cues are taken from the S-class with excellent upholstery colors and more exclusive options. It is completed with 8.4-inch of touchscreen for the standard infotainment system for the standard while the Cabriolet has 12.3-inch. It also has a new screen, redesigned infotainment system, lingua trionic voice control and more.
2018 Mercedes E-Class Engine
2018 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet will use bi-turbo V6 engine and 3.0 liter that can pump out about 328 hp and 350 pound-feet of torque. It will be sold as the E400 and E400 4Matic for US market. It goes with all-wheel drive system with 9G-Tronic nine-speed auto transmission for the standard option. It is safe to say that the company may offer more engines in the future.
It is hard to talk about the release date and price, but some sources explained that it would be prepared for 2018 season. It means its arrival may be started after 2017. The current model has $62,600 for the base price, and we assume that the new 2018 Mercedes E-Class may grow more which can be about $65,000 at least.
