Although there is no official detail about the SUV, Mike Maley as the Jeep boss mentioned that they would release the high-performance 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in April at 2017 New York Auto Show. It will be the Hellcat-powered beasts that rumors said to go with the all-wheel drive while still going with the supercharged 6.2 liters and V8 engine to work for 707 hp and 650 pound-feet of torque.
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee need significant changes on its bodywork. As we know that the car has the same design language since its four-generation that was debuted in 2011. We do expect to see small but significant updates for its styling cues and other elements. There will be seven-slotted grille with a larger design and taller openings. Small and powerful headlights will be added to complete the tapered edge bumper. For the Trackhawk variant, it may use large air inlets to replace the small bezels on its fog lights. There are also squared-off fender openings with black plastic flares as the trim to continue it with strong SUV cues. It has a sharp character for the sides to lighten the appearance visually. It has improved aerodynamic with high interior volume. Others are the 12 to 20-inch f size for the wheels.
The advantage to anticipate its arrival is the refreshment inside the cabin. The current model has an old dashboard, and the new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with the full-fledged panel as well as gauge cluster. It is also possible to have Uconnect system. It still uses the same two-row configuration to support five passengers. The second row is foldable to provide large storage capacity. Leather seats with heated, cooled and massing functions are possible for the upper trims while the base model has cloth seats and non-navigation Uconnect system.
Based on rumors, it will use upgraded 3.6 liters Pentastar V6 engine that is the standard for the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It also has 3.0-liter EcoDiesel as the optional for impressive fuel economy at 420 pound-feet of torque. Jeep will carry over their 5.7 liters Hemi V8 for the higher trims. For the Grand Cherokee SRT, it has 6.4 liters naturally aspirated Hemi V-8. Those engines are mated to eight-speed auto transmission.
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to come out in the third quarter of 2017, and the price can be about $30,300 for the base Laredo trim, and the SRT can be around $66,800.
